Ibiza, October 9th 2016 – the final act of the M32 Series Mediterranean crowns leaders GAC Pindar and Section 16, respectively act and Overall winners.
After a series of hard fought races, Ibiza concludes the first successufull Mediterranean season of the super fast M32 catamarans after a total of 5 acts with seven teams that have raced in some of the most beautiful and exclusive locations in the Mediterranean sea.
The M32 Series Mediterranean is reconfirming itself as a modern racing format, highly spectacular and very challenging for both teams and the attending audience that has enjoyed thrilling races from ashore, infact M32 racing format sees super speed races close to the shore with live commentary by a professional speaker.
Today we have experienced an unsual rainy day for Ibiza with tricky sea conditions, autumn sky that has influenced weather conditions and tactician decisions.
The unstable breeze has allowed for only one race on this final day that has seen Simoneschi's Italia Sailing Team taking the leadership followed by Swedish Typhoon X Racing and Ian William's GAC-Pindar, newly winner of the Scandinavian Series and leader of this final Spanish act.
With today's fifth place Richard Davies' Section 16 wins the Overall M32 Series Mediterranean trophy. Second Overall place for Simoneschi's Italia Sailing Team by 1-point margin, third Overall for Miani's Neverland, thus concluding a great sailing season.
